Newport MInster Inauguration

Sts Thomas Church Newport was created a Minster Church in 2008. This new and exciting chapter in the history of the civic church of the Isle of Wight was formally recognised at the Inauguration by the Bishop of Portsmouth (The Rt. Rev. Dr Kenneth Stevenson) on 24 September 2008 and in the presence of the Earl of Wessex, HRH The Prince Edward, who is the Patron of the Renewal Campaign. A large congregation drawn from every parish on the Isle of Wight attended the service.
